While working at Ten Gun Design, I have worked on the Microsoft HoloLens team. My team has worked together with the Microsoft HoloLens brand team to establish the HoloLens brand identity. We have continued the development and extension of the HoloLens visual I.D. creating visuals for web, print and brand guidelines. My most major role was set as the designer for the HoloLens Development Edition packaging under the leadership of my Art Director, Zoe Cobb.
hololens developer edition and ACCESSORY packaging GRAPHICS AND QSG
We used an iridescent foil to reflect the actual holographic HoloLens experience, a dark gray substrate for contrast, and a hit of a blue peak to carry out the Microsoft brand. A thin line weight illustration and delicate type treatments gave this packaging the perfect "premium" look the client was going for.
HOLOLENS LINE ART AND QSG ILLUSTRAtIONS
After receiving the line art from the product team, it was my job to clean it up and prepare it for the packaging. Below you will see a before and after of the top down illustration.
We were then tasked to photograph and create line art illustrations for the Clicker accessory, which I completed from start to finish. These were used in the accessory quick start guide, as well as the front of box.
MICROSOFT HOLOLENS Brand assets
We used the packaging design as a standard for quality as we began developing the HoloLens brand. I have designed various brand assets for the Microsoft HoloLens team to display on their website such as the "Development Edition" hero image, the "Commercial Suite" hero image, and both of their "Case Study" hero images. I have also created web banners, large format posters for a flagship experience store, worked on brand guidelines, photoshoot guidelines, and have designed collateral pieces.
DESIGNING FOR A HOLOGRAPHIC WORLD
The 3D team at Ten Gun Design was tasked to create the standard for what holograms would look like in lifestyle imagery. Taking the imagery created from our photoshoots, they would use their 3D skills to create these beautiful, AR scenes. I collaborated with the 3D team by helping them with the 2D design portion of these projects. I have helped storyboard for these scenes, created website designs, gathered curated textures or created some of my own, screen designs, UI designs and more.
